We dyno-tested the a Vauxhall SRi and produced results that show a 3% gain in torque and a 2.7% gain in power by purely adding just water into the Invo Water Vapor Jet. Imagine the power gains if you added a mixture of water and racing methanol or 100% pure racing methanol!!

We featured here the INVO Generation Two version Vapor Jet. The main function of this vapor jet is: a thin mist of water vapour passes into the inlet manifold, via the fuel regulator. This produces a more efficient burn in the cylinders, resulting in the ECU increasing fuelling, giving more power. Secondly it can reduce the chances of detonation by spraying cool water into the cylinders - ideal for Fuel Injection and Carburettor vehicles. As for Turbocharged vehicles, they would need to use a one-way valve to connect to the air intake of the inlet manifold. For best results, use nine parts water to one part methanol or 100% alcohol. The other feature of this 2nd generation version is its clear bottle so you can detect the water level easily and see how the vapor jet in action.

Ford Orion

One of our agents, Storm Motor Sport had fitted our Invo Water Vapour Jet onto their customers car. A Ford Orion which belongs to Andrew who lives in Leeds UK. Andrew noticed a much more responsive mid-range in his vehicle which he uses for shows and track days. When he goes to track days, he also mixes methanol or 100% alcohol into the water vapour jet. This gains even more performance and torque.

Bargain-priced water injection and a giant can of engine degreaser tried out
We all want more power from our car's engine and the more dedicated among us will go to any lengths to get it. The more extreme your motor becomes, the more it runs the risk of going into total meltdown from excessive, localised heat deep inside. It may sound odd, but positive effects have been found - especially on high-boost turbo applications - from injecting a fine water mist into the inlet tract. We're not going to cover whether it works (as it's very much an engine by engine case), but look at the other problems that normally put engine tweakers off - the high cost and complex fitting.

Meeting the Viper-Jet from Invo Auto. This weird looking bit of kit gives a simple form of water injection that can be fitted in minutes, they claim. I must admit I was a little apprehensive when I heard about this system, but seeing and fitting it myself revealed the truth.

After getting a kit in, I set about sticking it on to the different motors owned by some of my mates. The first guinea pig was an XR3i and the kit is so simple it only took me 20 minutes to fit. I thought that must be a fluke, so I grabbed a mate's Pub205: 15 minutes. I then fitted it to two cars I had to head, an E30 BMW 320i and my girlfriend's 1.4 Escort. Now, I know we said this wasn't a test of how water injection performs, rather how it fitted, but because it was so easy curiosity overcame me.

With the system fitted, and the water bottle topped up, it was time to head out on the road. Bizarrely, the first thing noted was the initial throttle response - it picked up a lot sharper from the bottom of their rev range. Acceleration in any gear felt a little more urgent in the Beemer, but quite noticeably quicker and smoother in the Escort. This kit seems to be doing its job. As an added bonus the Beemer's owner has since reported getting 30 miles extra from a full tank, while my other halves' typical £10 seemed to be lasting longer.

In addition to all of the above, the Vapor-Jet is quick and easy to fit. Can't argue with that can you?

It is recommended by Invoauto that the breather filter within the water vapor jet is changed every 9 months.
